The pick cannot be bought.

No business can pay to be picked. Every pick comes with the reasons for it, and those reasons only ever come from this list:

  • how far the business is from you
  • its state license status, where the state publishes it
  • how many independent sources list it
  • whether it has a website and takes bookings online
  • our own record of whether it answers the phone and books

We do not fetch, store or blend in anyone else's star ratings. Your assistant is still free to look up reviews itself. A runner-up is held in case the first business does not come through.

Nothing is shared until you say so.

Before anything happens, you see which business will be contacted and exactly which of your details it will hear: your first name, your callback number, what you need, and when you are free. The booking goes ahead only when you confirm. Your details go to the one business you chose and to nobody else. After you say yes, one of three things happens:

  • You get the booking link: when the business already takes bookings online through Booksy, Vagaro, Fresha, Square Appointments or StyleSeat, you get its public booking page instead of a phone call.
  • An AI assistant calls for you: its first sentence says who is calling, that it is an AI assistant calling for a customer, that the call is recorded and transcribed, and gives a callback number. It asks for your service inside the times you gave and reports one result: confirmed with a date and time, declined, no answer, voicemail, or the business wants you to call.
  • You get the number and a script: you get the business's number and a short script to read out when we cannot place a call. We call only landline and internet phone numbers, between 9am and 6pm in the business's local time, and never in Indiana, Louisiana, Minnesota, Montana or Nebraska. The call books an appointment and nothing else. A business gets at most 2 call attempts for one request, and the second happens only if you ask again.

    When onepick is listed in a directory, you will connect in your assistant's settings or by saying "Connect my onepick" and sign in. Until then, the documentation shows how to add it by its address.
